Instructions for Users
Top Required Fields
Please enter data for all fields shown on a green background and marked with an asterisk (*). If your country does not have states or provinces, please enter "Not Applicable". Data cannot be saved until information has been saved in each required field.
Institutional acronyms must be globally unique. If you select an acronym that is being used by another institution, you will receive an error message. At that point you can either select a different acronym or contact us to discuss.
Top Institution Name
Please enter the name of the institution as a whole. You will be asked for the names of individual collections at a later point.
Top Institution Type
Please select the item that best represents the type of institution. If several types apply (e.g., a museum with an herbarium and an aquarium), please select the most prominent aspect of the institution.
Top Institution Governance
Please select the item that reflects the ownership and legal character of the institution, not the major source of funding. For example, an institution may be legally chartered as a private non-profit institution, even though it may receive most of its income from government sources or from private donors. Public institutions may belong to national, state, provincial, or local governments.
Top Institutional Address
Please enter information in each of the required address fields. If your country does not have states or countries, please enter "Not Applicable”. If the mailing address and physical address of your institution are the same, please skip this section; you do not need to enter “Not Applicable” in these fields. Top Contact Data
Please enter the name and contact information for someone who can provide general information about the institution. Contact information for people in charge of individual collections will be requested at a later point.
Top Save and Verify Data
When you have entered data in all required fields, please click Save and Verify. You will be shown the data you've entered and be given an opportunity to make corrections.
