The lab of Forestry Zoology studies the mechanisms underlying insect expansion caused by human activity and environmental changes, especially global warming. Research in: Genetics of native/non-native insects, biology of insect populations expanding with global warming or newly introduced in Europe, Mathematical modelling, prediction, risk assessment and management of insect invasions, Inventory of the alien invertebrates present in Europe and of potential insect invaders from Asia. Models include: processionary pine moth, horse chest nut leafminer, larch bud moth, Cone and seed insects, the endangered wild silk moth and the endangered populations of incense-juniper. All specimens are cataloged in a single numbering system and do not require collection codes.
